At Element I provided company wide creative direction. My main goal was to unite, direct and enable employees from various departments to reach their full creative potentials- from product and design development to marketing campaigns. The following images are a few of the special projects I worked on personally for the brand in order to establish credibility in the skateboard and clothing industries and rebuild the foundation of the brand. Project - Incase

Incase is the premier carrying solution company for Apple products. I worked as the creative director of their talented design team on a complete overhaul of their product packaging with the combined goal of creating a major presence at the retail level and enhancing the appearance of the product in order to stand out in a sea of monotony. The packaging revamp elevated the appearance of Incase products and aligned them directly with Apple’s product design aesthetic. I also worked on special design projects for the grand opening of Apple stores around the globe. Pictured is a limited edition laptop case designed for the the opening of the 5th Avenue store in New York City.

I also directed a redesign of the Incase website and retained the services of web genius, Marcel Appleman. The initial goal was to provide a more user-friendly shopping experience but I also felt it important to integrate social media outlets like Flickr and YouTube and to personalize the visitors experience through the use of a blog and customer feedback.

Project - Instant Winner

I launched the skateboard and clothing company, Instant Winner in 2002 because I felt there was room in the marketplace for a company that focused on fine art and high quality products. I hired illustrators like Robin Nishio, Nathan Fox and Matt Bahr among others to create ground breaking graphics that have been featured in books and magazines and won awards at illustration shows. I also partnered with former Supreme designer Augie Galan to create an apparel line. His much sought after hats were a testament to quality of design and attention to detail. With the creative team in place and a group of young talented skateboarders to represent the brand, we stood out from the rest almost immediately. IW had the both quality of design and construction to be at home in high end boutiques and the credibility of its riders and values to be carried in core skate shops around the globe.

Project - Apparel & Footwear Design

With more than 16 years experience in the action sports industry, I’ve worked with apparel and footwear in all aspects- from retail to design. I’ve been lucky over the years to collaborate with many talented people to create products that have strengthened the brand’s core values and opened the doors to new distribution channels. The following images are a small sampling of the work I’ve done, both on my own and as part of a creative team

Project - Selected T-Designs

T-shirt graphic design has been a love of mine for many years. Whether it be on an individual level or as the director of a team of illustrators and designers. Many of my designs have been top sellers and featured in magazines and books. I also have had the honor of being interviewed on the state of tee design.
